Taj Corridor case: Let law take its course

New Delhi, Nov 27: Reacting to Supreme Court clearing decks for trial of former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati in the Taj Corridor case, the BJP remarked that the 'law will take its own course.'

Asked to react on the apex court's order, BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said if somebody is found guilty, the person must be punished. ''We have nothing much to say on the issue,'' he said.

About the demand for imposing President's rule in Uttar Pradesh for conducting free and fair Assembly polls, he said it was the responsibility of the Central Government and the Election Commission to provide conducive atmosphere for people to express their views in free, fair and objective manner.

''Everything that is needed to achieve this should be done'', Mr Malhotra remarked.
