Leopard caught by Lucknow Zoo Forest Department team

Allahabad, Nov 27 (UNI) A young male leopard which entered the New Cantonment area here was caught by the team of Lucknow Zoo Forest Department early this morning.

After tranquilising the leopard, the team took the animal to Lucknow.

Panic had gripped the New Cantonment area following the sighting of a leopard last evening, which had entered the CSD canteen premises. Soon after it entered the area, the employees locked the leopard in a room.

Getting the information, Defence officers, Divisional Commissioner R N Tripathi, ADM (City) Raja Ram Pal Singh alongwith the PAC jawans reached on the spot and sealed the area to avoid any untoward incident.

It is astonishing that even though there is no forest ajoining Allahabad, how this leopard reached here. The answer remained a mystery.

However, the leopard injured no one except damaging the goods in the canteen.
