Lady doctor commits suicide in HP

Una, Nov 27 (UNI) A 35-year-old lady doctor committed suicide by setting herself on fire in her bathroom in Una district of Himachal Pradesh early today, police sources said.

Niha Dhiman, serving at Daulatpur Chowk Community Health Centre, committed suicide by setting herself on fire after pouring petrol on her in her residence in Daulatpur Chowk here.

The sources said Ms Dhiman, suffering from some mental illness, bought 20 litre of petrol from a petrol pump after her husband's departure to his office.

The lady doctor's badly burnt body was recovered from her bathroom after a loud explosion at about 1015 hrs, the sources said.

Ms Dhiman had been married to Dr Balram Dhiman, posted at Marwari Primary Health Centre.

The sources said a case has been registered and investigations are on.
