Iranian military plane crashes, some killed: TV

Tehran, Nov 27: An Iranian military aircraft crashed at Tehran's airport today, killing some people on board, state-run Iranian television reported.

It said the Antonov-74 belonged to Iran's Revolutionary Guards.

The television gave no figures on the number of deaths and an Iranian civil aviation official had no immediate comment.

''A few minutes ago an Antonov-74 plane that belonged to the Revolutionary Guards crashed after taking off from Mehrabad airport,'' said the television.

''This plane was heading towards Shiraz and a few Revolutionary Guards personnel have been martyred in this accident.'' Shiraz is situated south of Tehran.
