Huge explosives recovered from temple, two arrested
Berhampur, Nov 27 (UNI) The Digapahandi police have arrested two persons and seized explosives kept inside a temple in Padampur village, about 35 kms from here yesterday.
Police said nearly 440 electrical detonators, concealed in 44 packets, 44 bundles safety fuse wire, 111 bundle wire connected with detonators and other explosive materials were recovered from Laxmi Narayan temple.
Police arrested Chinnari Anand Subudhi from Padmanavpur village and his associate Manoj Kumar Rath from Bhimpur village and brought them beore the court today.
The accused were collecting explosive materials from Chattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh parties in Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamala.
The explosive seized mainly used in explosion in the mines, according to sources. Police was investigating any possible link of the arrested persons with the left wing ultras in the state.
