Hooda visits Shanghai

Chandigarh, Nov 27 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, who is leading an official delegation to China, today expressed the hope that Haryana would surpass Shanghai in industrialisation in the next 15 years.

The Chief Minister was speaking at an interactive session organised at the Pudong Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in Shanghai, according to an official press release here.

Mr Hooda said Haryana had taken a number of steps to give a big boost to industrialisation.

He said Haryana, due to its proximity to the national capital, had received a number of proposals for setting up of SEZs.

The purpose of his visit to China was to study the Chinese model and replicate its best practices in Haryana, he added.

Vice Chief of Pudong district Qian Peiyao gave a presentation on the important features of the Pudong SEZ and its developmental highlights.

The Chief Minister is visiting the country on the invitation of the International Department of the Communist Party of China.
