Hindustan Syringes bags Rs 36 cr order
New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) Hindustan Syringes&Medical Devices Ltd (HMD), Asia's largest syringe manufacturer, has bagged Rs 36 crore export order for the supply of Auto Disable (AD) syringes from Path, an international non-profit organisation.
Path is buying these syringes for US President George Bush's project 'Making Medical Injections Safer (MMIS)', which is taking a five year initiative to implement safe injection practices in 11 focus countries in Africa and Caribbean nations.
UNICEF would also be using these syringes for its various immunisation health programmes run across the globe.
This is one of the largest orders won by an Indian syringe company so far.
The company would be supplying over 70 million syringes to Path for curative injections and upto 88 million syringes for immunisation injections to UNICEF respectively.
It manufactures over 1.2 billion syringes and 2.1 billion needles per annum at its multiple manufacturing locations in Ballabgarh, Haryana.
