Haryana delivers 5 lakh tonnes to central pool

Chandigarh, Nov 27 (UNI) Haryana has delivered 5.18 lakh metric tonnes of rice to the central pool so far in the current fiscal as against 4.30 lakh metric tonnes during the corresponding period last year.

While stating this here today, Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that out of the total rice delivered to the central pool, 3.25 lakh metric tonnes was delivered by the six government procuring agencies while 1.93 lakh metric tonnes of rice was contributed by the millers.

Enumerating the details of the rice delivered by the six government procuring agencies, he said that Hafed had delivered 1.38 lakh metric tonnes of rice followed by 1.03 lakh metric tonnes by the Food and Supplies Department. Similarly, Haryana Agro Industries had delivered 36,000 metric tonnes, Confed 27,000 metric tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 14,000 metric tonnes and Food Corporation of India 7,000 metric tonnes.

He said that district Kurukshetra had delivered 1.16 lakh metric tonnes of rice to the central pool followed by Karnal 99,230 metric tonnes, Kaithal 94,337 metric tonnes, Fatehabad 58,383 metric tonnes, Ambala 53,796 metric tonnes and Yamunanagar 29,515 metric tonnes.
