New Delhi, Nov 27 (UNI) An exhibition to showcase audio and acoustics technology aimed at enhancing the 'cinema viewing' experience is to be held in the capital from December 1.

Cine-mall builders, multiplex owners, performance space owners across India and abroad, design professionals and leaders of entertainment industry from across the world will congregate at Taal 2006, the international event on theatre, audio-visual, acoustics and lighting, to be held at Delhi's Pragati Maidan.

Being organised by Sandy Media, publishers of two specialist magazines, Theatre World and Sound Solutions - Asia's first and only resource magazines on motion pictures exhibition and audio/acoustics technology respectively, the event is part of an endeavour to address segments that accentuate the experience of every performance space, be it a cinema halls, a theatre, a multiplex or a conference hall.

Speaking at a press meet this weekend to announce the event, Mr Kimi Alexander of the Sandy Media said,''the basic aim of Taal is to ''enhance the experience'' in the performance space in the categories of Theatre, Acoustics, audio-visual and lighting.'' He said Taal, literally meaning 'rythm' aimed to provide a symbolic platform for enetertainment and office infrastructure industries in Asia.

''It is an ambitious initiative conceived and conceptualised in tune with the industry's demand for a new and genuine platform that epitomises the strengths of the industry, works for its cause and helps it strike synergy with the global industry domains,''Mr Alexander said.

''The exhibition will have nearly 100 manufacturers, 40 of them from abroad, of equipments designed to enhance the experience of every performance space,''he said.

The holding of the exhibition is pertinent considering that the increasing multiplexisation of the cinema halls in India have created awareness of the need for an ''enhanced movie watching experience'' through the use of latest sound, acoustic and lighting equipment.

The inaugural edition, Taal 2005, held at Chennai from December 6 to 8, saw a spectacular mix of international manufacturers and regional distributors coming together in the areas of live sound, technical lighting, acoustics, cinema acoustics and cinema seatings.

Mr Alexander said the inaugural event, which attempted to integrate the four verticals of the entertainment and office industries - theatre (cinema), audio, visual, acoustics and lighting - created the much needed awareness in the indutry on need for a common ground .

''Over 100 companies had participated in the exhibition, which had footfalls of about 6000 business visitors for three days,''Mr Alexander said.
