CM announces solatium of Rs 50,000 each

Chennai, Nov 27 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today announced a compensation of Rs 50,000 each to the families of 19 people who died in a road mishap at Kathiripallam in Krishnagiri district last night.

Expressing his condolences to the bereaved families, the Chief Minister also announced Rs 35,000 each to 16 people, who suffered serious injuries and were undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bangalore, towards their medical expenses. Their families would also receive Rs 15,000 each as relief fund.

An assistance of Rs 15,000 each would be extended to 54 people who were being treated at a Government Hospital in Hosur, an official release said.

The District Collector of Krishnagiri had been directed to distribute the assistance with immediate effect, the release added.
