CITU agitates to enact Special Act on unorganised workers

Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 27 (UNI) Center of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) today called upon an agitation here to press the Centre to enact comprehensive Special Act on unorganised sector workers.

As a result thousands of workers in the city organized a big procession which ended at collectorate.

The protesters tried to break open the main gate of collectorate.

Police intervened and three workers were injured in lathicharge and arrested 23 leaders of CITU on the charges of breaching of law and order. Following the lathicharge and arrests, tension prevailed in the city.
