Kohima, Nov 27 (UNI) Nagaland Peoples' Front (NPF), a major partner of ruling Democratic Alliance Government, has suspended its two legislators including T Tally, who was subsequently sacked from his post of Parliamentary Secretary by Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio.

In a notification issued by state Chief Secretary Lalhuma last night said under Rule 5, the Chief Minister has relieve T. Tally from the duties of Parliamentary Secretary with immediate effect.

The NPF suspended its legislator Z. Obed along with T Tally last night, with whom the tally of suspended members rose to four, as it had earlier suspended former finance minister K Therie and former tourism minister Vatsu Meru for their alleged anti-party activities.

Mr Tally, who won the Tuli assembly seatt in 2003 in Mokokchung district on Congress ticket, had defected along with seven others to form a regional party, which later merged with the NPF.

After downsizing the DAN Ministry, Tally was also appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary for Jail and Home Guards, along with some of the dropped Ministers. Z Obed, who was elected in 2003 Assembly elections from Kohima Town Constituency on NPF ticket, was appointed as the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Minister in the Neiphiu Rio led DAN Ministry. He was dropped during the downsizing of DAN ministry along with Vatsu Meru.

Now in the 60-member Nagaland assembly, NPF has 31 (including four suspended) members, BJP with six (one member expired on October two last), JD (U) has two and Independent four.

The opposition Congress has 16 members.
