Advocates across Rajasthan to go on strike tomorrow

Jaipur, Nov 27 (UNI) Advocates, practising in lower courts across the state, will observe a token strike tomorrow in protest against reduction in the number of days for their annual leave.

The advocates have threatened to go on indefinite strike from December one, if their demands, of making the calender year same as those of advocates practising in the Rajasthan High Court, were not met.

The Sethi Committee had earlier recommended that working in lower courts be improved with quicker disposal of cases and as such the number of leave for the advocates be reduced.

The Rajasthan High Court administration had reduced the number of leave in a year for lower court advocates, with the approval of the Chief Justice.

The state-level advocate meet held yesterday decided to go ahead with a token strike tomorrow to press their demands.
