48 hour Arunachal bandh call withdrawn
Itanagar, Nov 27 (UNI) The All Arunachal Pradesh Donyi Polo Vidya Bhawan Lottery Tickets Holders' Committee (AAPDPVBLTHC) has withdrawn its proposed 48-hour Arunchal bandh from tomorrow.
The band was called in protest of 'unfair lottery draw' on August 15, sources said.
A meeting between the committee and an advisor to the Chief Minister, Takam Sanjoy held here yesterday decided to withdraw the call.
Mr Sanjoy said the state government would put a blanket ban on one time lottery draw including housie through a cabinet decision within a month.
All the pending cases against the committee would also be withdrawn, he said.
The lottery issue had rocked the state recently after the aggrieved ticket holders resorted to the bandh call and demanded to re-schedule the game.
This had compelled the government to constitute a one-man committee to go into the details of the issue. However, the report of the committee was tabled in the last Assembly session.
