Three security men, militant killed in Kashmir
Srinagar, Nov 26 (UNI) Three security personnel and a militant were killed while a self-styled battalion commander of the pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen was apprehended across the Kashmir valley overnight, an official spokesman said today.
Meanwhile, a gunbattle was on between militants and security forces at Neiji in Pampore area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir since this afternoon.
The spokesman said a Special Police Officer (SPO) and two security personnel were killed in an encounter at Rampora in Bandipora area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir last evening.
Five security personnel and a civilian were also wounded in the gunfight, he added.
A militant was killed by security forces in a gunbattle at Shallatoo village in Shopian area of Pulwama district last night.
One AK rifle, one magazine and one pouch were seized from him.
The spokesman said a self-styled battalion commander of the pro-Pakistan Hizbul Mujahideen was apprehended along with one hand grenade by police at Botengoo in Anantnag district of south Kashmir yesterday.
He said security forces seized one AK rifle, two magazines, 60 rounds, four blankets, utensils and some eatables from the forest area of Sarafraw in Kangan area of Srinagar district last evening.
