Kanpur, November 26 (UNI) The Minister of State for Home Sriprakash Jaiswal today brushed aside all the possibilities of the dismissal of the Samajwadi Party-led Uttar Pradesh government.

Talking to UNI, Mr Jaiswal said, ''It is true that over the years, law and order situation in UP has gone from bad to worse but the Congress does not believe in the dismissal of the ruling party nor is the party a supporter of the article 356".

Expressing concern over the 'dismal' law and order situation in UP, the minister said, ''I have communicated about the problem in black and white with the SP supremo quite a number of times but things remained unchanged,'' he maintained.

Taking note of the lack of basic amenities like water and electricity in the state, Mr Jaiswal added that ''in a democratic set up, people are the boss. They have the power to decide the fate of any party. People have seen the rule of Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, therefore they would definitely punish him by badly defeating SP in the assembly polls".

He also criticised the state government for 'misusing its power', while recalling the Congres-SP clash in Kanpur on Thursday and alleged ''UP police is also hand-in-glove with the ruling party.'' UNI ATI AKJ BST1518
