Police cane clashing JD(S), Congress workers
Mysore, Nov 25 (UNI) Police today resorted to lathi charge to avert a clash between Janata Dal(Secular) and Congress party workers following a stone pelting incident at Mellahalli village coming under Chamundeshwari Assembly Seat which goes to polls on December four.
Police said the incident occurred when Congress leader S Jarkiholi and actor and former MP Shashikumar were allegedly obstructed while electioneering at the village and amidst tension mounting and the workers of the two parties coming face to face, police resorted to lathi charge to defuse the situation.
The two leaders, speaking to reporters later, alleged that JD(S) workers were responsible for the incident.
This was the third day such allegations were being levelled against the JD(S) which was refuted by the chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
