One electrocuted, 7 hurt in Asom
Diphu, Nov 26 (UNI) One labourer was killed and seven others were seriously injured when they were electrocuted by a high voltage electricity line in Langfoliate area along Diphu-Lumding road in Asom today.
The accident occurred at around 1100 hours while the workers were working on a 33,000 KV power line, the sources said.
According to sources, the workers were engaged in a renovation project of electricity poles in the area.
The Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) officials overseeing the section had confirmed that power was shut down. However, as the workers mounted the poles to resume work, they were electrocuted.
The injured have been rushed to the nearest civil hospital.
