One dies in inter-NSCN clash
Kohima, Nov 26 (UNI) One NSCN-IM cadre was killed and another injured following a factional clash in an area near Zunheboto town and Sukhalu village under Zunheboto district yesterday, official sources today said.
A self-styled ''corporal Yangpak Noke'' of Noksa village in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh was killed and another injured.
Later, both the factions retreated and firing was stopped.
NSCN-IM sources said the injured was shifted to Satakha town for treatment while the body of the deceased cadre was taken to Dimapur.
In a separate incident in Kohima, panic gripped the capital town last evening when suspected NSCN cadres exchanged around twenty rounds of gunfire in the New Market area.
Police, receiving the information, rushed to the spot, but by that time, both the factions left the area.
Following the incident, security arrangements in the capital Kohima town have been intensified by deploying Indian Reserve Battalion personnel.
