Migratory birds flock in to Tripura

Agartala, Nov 26 (UNI) With the onset of winter in the state, migratory birds are flocking in to various lakes of Tripura.

According to official sources, birds from various countries could be seen in the lakes, including the Sepahijala lake about 25 km from here and Dambur hydel project lake in Dhalai district.

The Forest Department had taken precautionary measures to save these feathered visitors from poachers.

The state government has adopted steps to boost tourism in this state with scenic beauty and will shortly introduce a Titanic Ship like baloon in the Sepahijala lake, one of the beautiful tourist spots. Apart from natural beauty, the lake attracts birds and animals, including monkeys.

During last season, more than one lakh tourists came to Sepahijala alone and keeping in view the inflow this time authorities had taken all preparatory meaures to beautify the place, sources said.
