Member of administration reforms commission resigns
Patna, Nov 26 (UNI) Member of Bihar state administrative reforms commission, Basant Kumar Chaudhary has resigned in protest against the indifferent approach of the state government towards interim report earlier presented by the commission.
Talking to reporters here, Mr Chaudhary said today state government had put the interim report of the commission in cold storage without formally accepting or rejecting it.
He alleged that state government was not interested in implementing the recommendation of the commission due to hurdles put up by the bureaucrats.
Mr Chaudhary, a senior advocate of Patna High Court, said land reforms commission constituted by the state government had not presented even its interim report so far.
"Persons associated with land reforms had not been made members of the land reforms commission and it was merely a committee of bureaucrats," he added.
He said that road map prepared by the state government for allround development of Bihar had serious fallacies as it did not take into the account of suffering of the common masses.
"Slum dwellers were being harassed in the name of development," he regretted.
Mr Chaudhary expressed concern over arrest of Mr Kishori Das, who was raising his voice in the interest of under privileged section of the society.
