Jan Morcha to support third front in Punjab assembly polls

Chamkaur Sahib, Ropar, Nov 26 (UNI) The Jan Morcha will support a third front of non-Congress and non-BJP-Shiromani Akali Dal parties in Punjab in the next assembly elections to be held early next year.

This assurance was given by former Prime Minister and Jan Morcha leader V P Singh while addressing a 'Virsa Sambal Miri-Piri Sikh Sammelan' here today. The function was organised by the Akali Dal led by former Punjab assembly Speaker Ravi Inder Singh.

Mr Ravi Inder pointed out that his party was holding talks with the CPI and CPM, who had already announced to contest the elections in Punjab in alliance with the Lok Bhalai party of former MP Balwant Singh Ramoowalia. The third front would comprise of the Left parties, the Lok Bhalai party and his Akali Dal, Mr Ravi Inder added.

Responding to the Akali leader, the former PM said that the Jan Morcha would support this front in the polls.
