IPRs is key component for success in WTO regime: Expert

Ahmedabad, Nov 26 (UNI) In the new global market scenario, the Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs) is a key component for economic success, said an expert.

Talking to media persons here today, MarkPatent.Org CEO Dr Rajeshkumar Acharya said the creative ideas or expressions are thrust for doing extraordinary things, thus they should be protected through acquisition of IPRs.

He said India has become an innovative and creative society and global leader in sustainable technologies by promoting innovation and its proper protection.

Dr Acharya said pharma, information technology (IT) and high tech are the thrust areas where the Indians and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) have edge over the others. Their new inventions or innovations should be protected under IPRs.

Gujarat has potential to register maximum patents under IPRs, as it is hub of pharma and drug industries as major pharmaceuticals are based in the state.
