Explosion rocks Gaza City: Witnesses

Gaza, Nov 26: An explosion tore apart a car in Gaza City today, witnesses said.

Ambulance crews said they treated several people for shock but there were no major injuries.

One witness said a missile fired by an Israeli aircraft hit the vehicle. The account could not be immediately confirmed.

Two militants who arrived at the scene shortly after the blast said the car belonged to them but they had left the vehicle before the explosion occurred.

Israel has pledged to step up attacks, including what it calls targeted strikes, against militant groups behind frequent cross-border rocket launchings.
