CM denies defending party workers' act
Bangalore, Nov 26 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today denied media reports that he had neither defended or expressed helplessness over acts of certain party workers obstructing campaign by leaders of other contending parties.
All parties were duty bound to keep the elections free and fair and his party was no different. He did not approve of such acts, he said.
Janata Dal(U) candidate A S Guruswamy and Congrss MLC Mallajamma had complained that JD(S) workers allegedly obstructed them while they went to campaign in some villages.
In a statement issued here tonight Mr Kumaraswamy said the state government had given all possible support to the Election Commission in conducting the polls. No party should try to emotionally instigate the workers of other parties, he said.
