New Delhi, Nov 26: Chairman and CEO of Cisco Inc John T Chambers will arrive here on December 6 and is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister, IT Minister and leaders of Indian industry.

On the second day of his two day India visit, the CEO of the world's leading IT networking firm will be in Bangalore.

Other engagements on Mr Chambers' schedule include a keynote on ''Network as an Enabler for Life's Experiences'' to senior Indian executives at a CEO's address organised in association with the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII).

Commenting on his India visit, David Caspari, Interim President, Cisco India said, " India has become a key part of Cisco's operations worldwide and is one of the fastest growing markets in the Asia Pacific region. The fact that John has chosen to visit the country for the third time demonstrates the importance of India to Cisco and provides an opportunity to focus on the next phase of Cisco's growth plans in India .'' Cisco first set up operations in India in 1994.

It recognised India's remarkable business potential early on, and has been able to spark market transitions, seize and invest in opportunities, and realize value.

With sales and marketing operations spread across key cities in India and a Global Development Centre in Bangalore, Cisco dominates the networking market in core technologies of routing and switching, as well as WLAN and network security.

During his last visit to India in October 2005, Cisco announced a three-year, 1.16 billion dollar investment plan in India.
