Pandhana, MP, Nov 26 (UNI) Accusing the Congress of exploiting the sentiments of the Gujjars, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today alleged that the party was always apathetic towards solving that community's problems.

The Bharatiya Janata Party also made its stance clear by bestowing a crucial responsibility in government to principal Gujjar leader Rustam Singh.

Mr Chouhan was addressing a public meeting organised here by his party. Khandwa's senior Congress leader Mangilal Raoji Patel took BJP membership along with hundreds of workers owing allegiance to him.

Reiterating a resolve to get rid of problems plaguing the Backward Classes (BC), the Chief Minister assured, ''The state's BJP regime will take every possible step for the uplift of all social segments.'' Mr Patel accused the Congress of using the BCs and Gujjars as pawns for grabbing power.
