Jaunpur, Nov 26 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today slammed Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav for making undue remarks against Governor T V Rajeshvar.

Talking to mediapersons here, senior party leader Swami Chinmayanand said such type of statements are a slur on the Constitution. ''Our democracy is not secure under the rule of Samajwadi Party-led UP government,'' he maintained.

Former Minister of state for Home slammed the UPA government at the Centre for continuously being a hindrance to development programmes.

He added, ''The UPA government is encouraging terrorism as notwithstanding court's verdict, Afzal -- the prime accused in the Parliament attack on December 13, 2001 was not hanged.'' Mr Chinmayanand alleged ''threat of naxalites haunts 165 districts of 14 states in the country today.'' He stated the situation was totally different under the rule of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the Centre.

''Implementation of Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) once again is the only way to curb terrorism and naxalism from root,'' he emphasized.

He alleged free and fair 2007 UP assembly polls are completely impossible under the reign of SP supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, therefore, there is an urgent need to impose President's rule in the state.
