Badal says debate between CM-Brar meaningless

Bathinda, Nov 26 (UNI) Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president and former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal today termed as meaningless the ongoing debate over Congress leader Jagmeet Singh Brar's suggestion to Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh to contest next election against him (Mr Badal) from Lambi.

Talking to UNI over telephone Mr Badal said the debate and hue and cry being made in this regard was all meaningless as such matters are decided by the party leadership in larger prospectives.

Mr Badal, however, clarified that he did not want to comment on the ongoing war-of-words within the ruling Congress in this regard as it was the internal matter of ruling Congress.

The former chief minister also reiterated that he would contest next assembly election from his traditional constituency Lambi.

Mr Brar had recently dared Captain Singh to contest the next assembly election against SAD supremo Mr Badal from Lambi.

In response the Capt Singh had held that he need not go to Lambi, if Mr Badal was interested he could come to Patiala to contest against him.
