Aged couple murdered in Haryana village

Jagadhri, Nov 26 (UNI) An aged couple was allegedly strangulated to death at their house in Knalsi village under the Buria police station of Yamunanagar district last night, police today said.

According to the police the murder was reported to the police by Ms Rajni, who had been adopted by the couple as they were issueless.

The victims were identified as Gajja Singh and his wife Bhagrathi, both of whom were around 70 years.

Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the couple had 14 kanals agricultural land which could have been the motive for the crime.The police on the statement of Rajni has registered a case under section 302 of the IPC.
