1,500 candidates shortlisted at job fair
Bhopal, Nov 26 (UNI) The three-day job fair 'Lakshya 2006' -- organised by the RKDF Institute of Science and Technology -- turned out to be a great success with about 1,500 candidates being shortlisted by 24 top-notch companies.
RKDF Group Chairman Sunil Kapoor said companies -- including Wipro, Stream India, BMW and Atul Limited -- selected about 1,500 students from varying backgrounds like pharmacy, engineering, management and IT on the basis of a three-phase selection test.
He claimed that it was for the first time in central India that such an event was organised where job-seekers from 200 colleges and institutes took part under one roof.
Dr Kapoor said the companies would take the details of shortlisted candidates with them and hold discussion with their management and almost 50 per cent of them were expected to get job offers in final list. These students were expected to get a package of Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
The fair was inaugurated by state Commerce and Industries Minister Babulal Gaur and Public Relations Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on November 24.
