13 killed in road accident as truck overturns

Hosur, Tamil Nadu Nov 26 (UNI) At least 13 people were killed and many injured when a truck in which they were travelling hit a rock on the road and overturned at Kathripallam near here in Krishnagiri district of Tamil Nadu tonight.

The District Superintendent of Police, Mr Tamilselvi said the police have recovered 13 bodies so far and efforts are on to rescue others.

Police said the victims were returning from Hogenekal after visiting a bereaved family to Aiyur when the mishap occurred.

According to initial reports, police said the truck hit a huge rock, which caused it to overturne. There were about 50 to 60 people, including women in the truck, police added.
