Sugar prices recover on fresh demand

Mumbai, Nov 25: Sugar prices today recovered on fresh demand, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchants' Association said.

Sugar in small grade went up by Rs three per quintal on improved demand, while medium grade fell by Rs two per quintal on thin buying support.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades rose by Rs five each per quintal on lesser stocks supply.

Following were the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade: Rs 1,705/1,752, Medium grade: Rs 1,740/1,800, Ex-mill: Small grade: Rs 1,685/1,695, Medium grade: Rs 1,710/1,740.
