Sonia offers prayer at Tirumala
Tirumala, Nov 25 (UNI) UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi offered prayer at Sri Venkateswara Temple here this afternoon.
She was received by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Joint Executve Officer Balaramaiah at the Vaikuntam Queue Complex and led into the temple by TTD Executive Officer (EO) A P V N Sarma.
After darshan, TTD Chairman B Karunakar Reddy gave her prasad, a portrait of the lord and a religious book.
The AICC President was accompanied by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh and Union Minister of State for Health Panabaka Lakshmi.
Later, Ms Gandhi left for New Delhi by a special flight from Renigunta Airport.
During the visit, vehicular traffic was stopped for more than three hours between Tirupati and Tirumala Ghat Roads. Police made foolproof security arrangements for the VVIP visit.
