Sanskar Bharti workers hold demonstration against BHU VC

Varanasi, Nov 25 (UNI) A group of students and Sanskar Bharti (SB) workers today held a demonstration here, protesting the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) notice to its teachers over their presence at an RSS seminar.

The BHU students and SB workers gathered outside the varsity main gate and set afire the effigy of vice-chancellor.

Some of the students alleged that they were lathicharged by the police.

The protesting students also pelted stones on the security men.

Later, the police reached the spot and brought the situation under control.

The students and SB workers were protesting the notice served by the BHU administration to four teachers who had participated at an RSS seminar on November 11.

Meanwhile, BJP activists also burnt the effigy of BHU VC at the Sonarpura crossing over the issue.
