Rs 1328 crore disbursed for purchase of paddy
Chandigarh, Nov 25 (UNI) The Haryana government has disbursed a sum of Rs 1328 crore to farmers for purchase of their 20.43 lakh tonnes of paddy during this season so far.
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan said that Hafed had purchased 9.02 lakh metric tonnes (MTs) of paddy and made a payment of Rs 586.20 crore followed by Food and Supplies department on payment of Rs 394.29 crore for the purchase of 6.07 lakh MTs of paddy.
He said the Haryana Agro Industries Corporation had purchased 2.43 lakh MTs of paddy and the farmers had been given a sum of Rs 158.21 crore while Confed had disbursed Rs 115 crore for purchasing 1.77 lakh MTs of paddy.
Similarly, Haryana Warehousing Corporation paid Rs 66.95 crore for the purchase of 1.03 lakh MTs of paddy and FCI paid Rs 7.11 crore for the purchase of 0.11 lakh MTs of paddy.
He said the government had arranged cash credit limit to the tune of Rs 1000 crore during the current kharif season while Rs 839 crore were arranged during the previous kharif season-2005.
