Remain update with technological advancement- Jamir

Panaji, Nov 25 (UNI) Goa governor S C Jamir today said every officer of the armed forces must remain updated so as to keep pace with the rapid technological advancement and appealed the passing out cadets to develop the art of self learning by inculcating the habit of extensive reading.

The governor was adressing the passing out cadets after inspecting the parade at INS Mandovi parade ground at Verem in North Goa.

The 87 trainees officers passed out of Naval Academy after completion of their initial naval training. Medals were awarded to different cadets for their remarkable performance during their training period at the hands of chief guest Mr Jamir.

The 61 of them will now join the Indian Navy, 23 will enter the Indian coast guard, two foreign trainees will join Manuritius police while the remaining one will go back to Maldives.

The parade was culinated with a beautiful show presented by Chetak Helicopters, Dornier Martime, Reconaissance aircrafts and Kiran trainer aircrafts. Rear Admital Sanjay Vadgaokar, Flag Officer, Goa Naval Area, Captain N N Rao, Commandant, Naval Academy and others attended the parade.
