Rajasthan wins Ranji tie against host Guj to gain 4 points

Ahmedabad, Nov 25 (UNI) Visiting Rajasthan bagged valuable four points by defeating host Gujarat by 138 runs in the Ranji Trophy match on third-day of four-day played at the Sardar Patel Gujarat Stadium at Motera here today.

While loser Gujarat got zero point from the match.

Chasing the target of 281 runs to win, the Gujarat gave another disappointing performance getting all out for just 142 runs to concede a huge defeat by 138 runs.

In its second innings, Gujarat captain Parthiv Patel and Akash Christian made valuable contributions of 57 and 35, respectively.

While other batsmen miserably failed in putting up any resistance in facing Rajasthan attack.

As many as seven batsmen from the host side scored less than 5 runs. They are Nilesh Modi (1), Niraj Patel (2), B Thakkar (0), Timil Patel (4), A Makda (5), H Majumdar (0) and Lalit Patel (0).

Earlier, winning Rajasthan side resumed its second-innings from over night score of 134 runs for five wickets to add another 70 runs today to make the total of 204 runs. With first innings lead of 76 runs, Rajasthan set winningtarget of 281 runs for Gujarat.

Major contribution for setting winning target had came from second-opener Gagan Khoda who made 100 runs. In his centurion knock, Khoda hit one sixer and as many as 14 boundaries. He faced 146 balls.
