Pandhana bypoll: Cong demands deployment of paramilitary forces
Bhopal, Nov 25 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Congress today demanded deployment of central paramilitary forces at sensitive balloting centres to ensure free and fair by-election in Pandhana assembly constituency, where polling is scheduled for December 4.
In a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner, state Congress legal cell chief J P Dhanopia said 119 of 191 polling centres were extremely sensitive.
However, the chief electoral officer had described only 78 polling centres as sensitive.
He alleged that the BJP had created an atmosphere of fear in Pandhana and was torturing Congress workers.
