Pak hails peace accord b/w Nepal govt and Maoists

Islamabad, Nov 25: Pakistan today welcomed the peace accord signed between the Government of Nepal and the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) on Tuesday.

''Pakistan welcomes the accord and considers it as a significant and a right step towards sustainable peace, progress and prosperity of Nepalese people,'' foreign ministry spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam said in a statement here.

She said Pakistan respected the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Nepal and was desirous of stability and prosperity in the South Asian region.
