Lalu-Rabri government 'paralytic': Shivanand

Patna, Nov 25: Mr Shivananda Tiwari, former Bihar minister and close aide to RJD Chief Lalu Prasad, today dubbed the previous Lalu-Rabri regime 'ineffective and paralytic'.

Mr Tiwari, who recently joined the JD (U) here, said with more than four years' experience in the RJD he could 'authentically' state that the previous RJD government was 'inert' and 'paralysed'.

He also alleged that though being the Excise Minister during the RJD government, he failed to implement the excise policy.

Congratulating the Nitish Kumar government for formulating the policy, Mr Tiwari said the then Minister of State for Excise Surendra Yadav and aides to Lalu-Rabri were against his move for implementing the policy.

''The previous administration was directionless and a parallel government of criminals functioned during that period,'' Mr Tiwari added.

He also alleged that Mr Lalu Prasad was active in solving high profile abductions and instead of contacting the police he interacted with the kidnappers.
