Home guards caught in police sting operation

Badwani, MP, Nov 25 (UNI) Days after six policemen were line attached, three home guards were removed after being caught in camera during a police sting operation following complaints of illegal collection from highway users on Agra Mumbai National Highway in this district besides other irregularities.

The sting operation was carried out by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Nimad range) Vipin Maheshwari through a special police team.

Three home guards were found involved in illegal collection and were subsequently removed. Further disciplinary action was being initiated.

During the past two days, a secret patrol was carried out on the highway by the police officials but they did not involve in illegal collection.

Mr Maheshwari said the idea of a sting operation was inspired by media. More sting operations would be carried out in future because camera provided solid proof.
