Govt will protect interest of police: YSR
Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 25 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today assured police personnel that his government stood by them as they were staking their own lives to safeguard the citizens.
Addressing the personnel after laying foundation stone for the police colony here, Dr Reddy said ever since the Congress Government came to power, it had been concentrating on the welfare of employees and police personnel.
Dr Reddy said as the Army personnel safeguarded the interests of the nation by guarding the borders, the police were maintaining the internal security ensuring the safety of the people.
His government would take care of the police as it was its prime duty. He also assured government employees that their interests would be taken care of.
The Chief Minister later distributed house site pattas to the poor.
There was a ruffle at the spot as police did not allow entry to representatives of various labour unions who wanted to enter the venue and submit memoranda to the Chief Minister.
