Gaurav denies 'Dating Allowance' and accuses Tripti beating him

Bangalore, Nov 25 (UNI) Mr Gaurav Nigam, Software Engineer in Wipro Technologies Limited, today denied existence of 'Dating Allowance' in Wipro and accused his wife Tripti Nigam of beating him while she was staying with him.

''No Dating Allowance were paid and my wife Tripti Nigam's claim was far from truth. She had beaten me a lot of time when I did not yeild to her demands which included transfer of House and Car to her name'', Gaurav told over telephone from Delhi at a press conference organised here by Asha Kiran and Save Indian Family Foundation, an NGO.

Mr Nigam also said that there were no basis for dragging in the name of Wipro Chief Ajim Premji into the case. '' When there was no 'Dating Allowance' paid by the company where is the necessity to drag the Company Chief's name, he questioned.'' Mr Nigam alleged that ''Tripti was illtreating him and when her demand for transfer of house and car was not conceded she filed dowry case after returning to her parents house. My parents were put behind bar and they stayed in jail for three days for no fault of them.'' Mr Nigam asked ''when Women can do act of injustice why no punishment is meted to them and only Men should be punished even if they had not committed any mistake''.

According to reports appearing in a section of the press, Tripti Nigam from Kanpur filed a suit against her husband Gaurav Nigam under Domestic Violence Act. Tripti and Gaurav have been living separately for the past 18 months due to martial disharmony.

Gaurav had filed a divorce application in April, following which she filed a case against him under the Domestic Violence Act. She had also alleged that the company's dating allowance 'showed their complicity in encouraging his extra-marital affairs.

The Kanpur Magistrate court has issued summons against Mr Premji and Wipro Human Resources Head Pratik Kumar and they have been asked to appear in the court on November 29.

When contacted a Wipro spokesman, however, denied the prevalence of 'dating allowance' for employees and said 'we would like to categorically state that we do not have a dating allowance in any form and hence cannot elaborate on this alleged issue.
