First Handicraft Training Centre to be set up in Tripura

Agartala, Nov 25 (UNI) Tripura government has decided to set up the first handicraft training centre at Tribal dominated areas of Kuifang in south district of the state.

The total allocation for setting up handicraft training centre at Kuifang under Santirbzar sub-division was fixed at Rs 32 lakh.

''Of this total amount, Rs 32,40,000 has already been spent,'' official sources said. Another Rs 16 lakh was spent towards purchasing of modern machineries for the technology centre of handicrafts. The amount was provided jointly by DRDA and Guwahati base CBTC.

With this centre, people of Kuifang, Taruma, Srikantabari, Birendranagar, East Pilak, and North Ichacherra would be specially benefitted in the field of handicrafts, sources added.
