Father kills two daughters, injures wife

Nalgonda, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 25 (UNI) Police today arrested a person for murdering his two daughters and injuring his wife at Nilayagudem viilage, near here.

Police said the arrested, Ramalingam, who returned home heavily drunk last night, picked up a quarrel with his wife and started beating her with a stick.

In the melee, his two daughters Swapna (11) and Swathi (7), who came to restrain him from beating their mother, received several blows and were severely injured.

The injured girls were shifted to a government hospital at Miryalaguda where they succumbed to their injuries this morning.

The mother, who was seriously injured was admitted to General Hospital in Hyderabad, police added.
