Life imprisonment to murder accused

Pratapgarh, Nov 25: A court here has handed down life imprisonment to a person accused in a murder case.

According to the prosecution, on May 31 1992 -- Rampati Pathak and his father Ram Narayan were brutally attacked with 'lathis' by miscreants Ram Sajeevan and Sadashiv over a dispute.

Rampati had died at a district hopital.

Later, an FIR was lodged against the accused.

On the basis of testimony, Additional District and Sessions Court Judge Omkar Singh sentenced life in prison to accused Sadashiv and imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 on him, while the another accused had already died.
