Apang kicks off election campaign for Roing by-poll
Itanagar, Nov 25 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Gegong Apang kicked-off the election campaign for his party candidate for the December four by-poll to Roing assembly constituency.
Addressing a rally, the Chief Minister exhorted the people to ensure victory of Congress candidate Dature Miuli, party sources here today said.
Mr Apang said former Chief Minister Mukut Mithi, who was recently appointed the Lt Governor of Puducherry, had represented the seat for the last 20 years and people should maintain the same ethos.
Referring to the defection of Laeta Umbrey from the party fold after being denied ticket, he urged the party workers to win the confidence of voters keeping all misunderstandings at bay.
Altogether 12,299 voters, including 6564 males, would exercise their franchise in 37 polling booths to decide the fate of three candidates, including Raje Menjo of the BJP and Independent candidate Laeta Umbrey.
