Unidentified persons fire at businessman

Mumbai, Nov 24 (UNI) A businessman was seriously injured when two unidentified persons today fired at him at his office in the busy 'Steel Centre' off P D'Mello Road near Masjid Bunder railway station in South Mumbai.

At around 1400 hrs, two persons barged into the office of Mr Rajesh Ratilal Doshi and demanded for a 'bag'. When Mr Doshi asked them which bag they were referring to, one of them fired two rounds at him.

Mr Doshi, who suffered serious injuries on his left abdomen, was immediately rushed to the nearby G T Hospital and later shifted to Bombay Hospital as his condition started deteriorating. He is battling for life, police said.

Police believe the suspects might have come to meet some other person, with whom they might have had a dialogue earlier. However, they went to Doshi's office and began threatening him.

The duo left the revolver at the spot and fled from the scene, police added.
