Bhopal, Nov 24: Bharatiya Jan Shakti President Uma Bharti has demanded BJP President Rajnath Singh to curb ''aristocratic, criminal and corrupt'' tendencies being fostered by the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh.

In her letter to Mr Singh, Ms Bharti said she believed that politeness and decency were inherent in the BJP President, who was also a 'Ram bhakta' Hindu.

Pointing out that Mr Singh was fully aware of the turn of incidents that led to her expulsion from the BJP, Ms Bharti said she was enclosing copies of letters written to RSS' member M G Vaidya and BJP leader Arun Jaitely besides factual details of incidents that took place during Vidhisha Lok Sabha and Malehra assembly by-elections.

She alleged that the person at whose residence Mr Singh took lunch at Khargapur in Tikamgarh district on November 12 was the main accused behind the attempt to murder her at the fag end of polling on October 30.

She said Madhya Pradesh's Bundelkhand region, adjoining Uttar Pradesh, was in the grip of terror and fear when she had joined the BJP. Under those circumstances, socialist leaders became public voice, while oppressive feudals were given protection by the Congress and the then Jansangh.

Ms Bharti claimed that she transformed the atmosphere in the state and fought against feudalism, while exercising caution that the fight did not become a fight against a particular caste.

She added that circumstances had changed and Mr Singh must direct the state government to move in right direction.
